2004 Osborne Solaz Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon
(2007-02-27 15:45:41 UTC)Highly tannic - this sucked all the moisture out of my mouth, but not in an unpleasant way. I wouldn't call it "quaffable", though. An amusing wine - would easily compete with heavy, spicy foods. An interesting experience for $7, but I wouldn't pay more than that.
1999 Solaria Brunello di Montalcino
(2007-02-26 12:35:30 UTC)Disappointing! I read a review before imbibing that said this wine was dry with tastes of sour cherries and cranberries... unfortunately that was all I tasted. It was dry, dry, dry and thin tasting. It had beautiful color and texture, but I was expecting more terroir and a more balanced flavor.

(2007-02-25 05:51:53 UTC)Tasty. Nice balance of dry and fruit, with a little spice. Round, full flavor. A good value for the quality. Would purchase again.
2005 Cline Ancient Vines Zinfandel
(2006-09-24 05:30:23 UTC)I wish I had taken better notes when I tasted this a few days, ago! However, I can tell you that this wine was mellow, complex and earthy, low in tannins, and lacking any notes of vinegar. Costing a few dollars more than our usual wine budget, the taste exceeded what we expected for that minor extra cost. I definitely recommend this wine and would consider it as a gift bottle, too.
