2005 Amphora Sangiovese
(2007-07-15 15:41:09 UTC)This is my first Sangiovese and I am in love. The wine starts off very smooth with a bit of light berry scent that happened to mesh very closely with the red raspberries that we started eating soon after opening the bottle. It finishes with a pleasant dry note that is not overpowering.
My new favorite wine.
2005 Mark West 2005 Pinot Noir
(2007-06-05 03:31:24 UTC)This is by far my favorite wine of the past year. It has a wonderful smoothness. If I had to state a negative it would be that I didn't find this wine to be very complex on my first tasting -- just straight up smooth, wonderful flavor.
2004 Castle Rock Cabernet Sauvignon
(2007-06-05 03:26:03 UTC)This is a very dry wine with strong fruity notes and an oak-y bitterness. The combination of flavors gave the wine a lot of interesting complexity, though the bitterness sometimes dominated too much for my pallet.
I thoroughly enjoyed this bottle of wine and think would marvelously compliment rich food. Drinking it with our spicy grilled shrimp meal led to overly competing strong and subtle flavors. This is one to buy again and better pair with a different meal.
2005 Smoking Loon Chardonnay
(2007-02-15 13:04:50 UTC)This is a nice, rich wine that is just dry enough to prevent it from being sweet. It has a full body that feels like you are drinking something substantial, not watery.
S. likes it. Generally I feel like it meets my needs as a table white, dryer than my usual array of Savignon Blancs, but still full-flavored enough for me to drink without wishing for a red.
2004 Smoking Loon Syrah
(2007-01-05 10:12:19 UTC)Very pleasant and smooth. Strong flavor.
2004 Five Rivers 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon
(2007-01-05 10:09:38 UTC)Very tasty wine. I was eating chili while drinking it, so I can't comment on the specific flavors, but I throughly enjoyed it.
2004 Cline Red Truck
(2006-10-29 16:07:24 UTC)I really like this wine. It has a nice fruity-ness that is not overpowering. It is dry enough to feel crisp, while being fruity enough to explore a range of flavors.
2004 Fusero Red Wine
(2006-09-23 03:24:19 UTC)When first opened this wine had an extremely sharp bite to it that I found quite unplesant. After breathing for 20 minutes or so however, it mellowed out significantly.
I found this wine to have a few fruity notes, but overall was pretty weak on flavor.
2001 Desolation Flats Cabernet Sauvignon
(2006-09-21 22:19:02 UTC)A nice, fruity wine. Went very well with the cherries in our salad.
2001 Angeline Merlot
(2006-09-21 22:14:12 UTC)A very nice merlot. Became very smooth after breathing for a short while. Dry enough not to be sweet, but not harsh.
