2007 Graacher Himmelsreich Riesling Kabinett
(2009-06-02 01:32:42 UTC)This wine is easy to drink fresh and has a great balance..but this wine is locked yet. After 10 min. of getting air you feel thatb the wine became better and better. But I felt that there is even much more potential.Even now you have a great fruity creamy fresh balanced Riesling which is just perfect to enjoy.
2007 Spätburgunder Selection A
(2009-06-02 01:26:05 UTC)Maybe too early to drink this wine.I think Fritz Keller would recommend to drink the wine in 5 years but let's see what the wine is now about.Stunning open bouquet.I thought that it would be more closed. But i get deep fruit notes surrounded with this typical oaky note of this region.I get raspberry strawberry cherry just a fruitbomb. On the palate I just can say that this is a solid Spätburgunder.Mid heavy with a hint of sweetness. But I think in 4 years it will show its real potential.
2008 Diel de Diel
(2009-06-02 01:17:23 UTC)This is an unusual cuvee but very elegant and impressive.Very fruity and fresh on the nose. I can also see some Mousseaux in my glass.A huge note of fresh white peach and lime in daominated. On the palate very fresh and fruity as well but more sweetness I imagined. It is still dry but it seems so fruity that you think that you have more sweetness.Very solid and elegant wine for its price.
2007 Ihringer Winklerberg Riesling*** Q.b.A. trocken GG
(2009-06-02 01:06:54 UTC)This is a Riesling that will be last for a long time in my mind.Extremly well balanced und structured wine.On the nose I get a huge bouquet of fruits surrounded by a great minerality. We have lime peach and apples including also all a hint of spicy pepper.I also get a creamy fruit note like a caramalized pineapple/mango mix.And all these notes are supported by the nice harmonic mineraltiy. On the palate you feel that this is a absolut dry Riesling but with its fruityness it became great balanced.Nice acidity in the backend but not aggressive. This a wine that you can drink immediatly or even in 10 years.
1995 Diamant Imperial halbtrocken Bernard-Massard
(2009-06-02 00:52:53 UTC)Amazing that a "simple" sparkling wine can age for such a long time....over the 14 years we get a extremly golden copper colour but the mousseaux is very weak but still present. On the nose we have aged notes of apples pear caramel and a classic sherry note from the oxidation. On the palate it starts with a nice not long present creamieness in combination with nice fresh acid. And in the aftertaste you taste the sweet fruity oxidation notes.I'm happy that I tried this wine now...maybe in 6 months it would be gone and not drinkable
2008 Novello Mionetto
(2009-05-29 02:17:47 UTC)This should be the Italian answer to Beaujolais Primeur. But this is an Insult of wine at all. When you offer a wine in the same year of its harvest it is very clear that you have to drink it very early.Thats the marketing idea. But I would recommend that you drink this wine even more earlier - when its still grape juice. This wine is so so so boring and even not good to drink.I get strong strawberry notes on the nose and it is very bitter and unharmonic on the palate. This is a redwine you should drink by 10 °C to make it drinkable. But why I have to do that when I get a nice young harmonic Southtirol Merlot or Merlot blend for the same price or less. That is all I have to say...I'm really distressed
2007 Oktav Grauburgunder Kabinett trocken
(2009-05-29 02:03:03 UTC)straw-yallow colour.Typical nose of a grauburgunder.A mix of greeny and nuty components on the nose.Like a hint of fresh cutted grass, walnut and oak.Very solid bouquet. On the palate I get a mix of a nie strong body with balanced acid.Maybe a hint to much acid.
2007 Oppenheimer Krötenbrunnen Riesling Spätlese
(2009-05-20 18:27:39 UTC)Here is something that I can`t understand. A Spätlese is a high quality wine and you have to follow diffrent rules to write Spätlese on the bottle. But this wine costs only 2 € ??? This is a problem that I will never realize and I don't understand why the German wine institution doesn't solve it.
This wine is a easy wine to drink.white - golden, light colour with mousseaux. The bouquet is nearly empty, maybe a hint of lemon and apricot. On the palate it is also very characterless. We have a nice harmnony of sweetness and acidity, but that's all.
2007 Ihringer Winklerberg Grauburgunder*** Q.b.A. trocken GG
(2009-05-05 13:36:26 UTC)Shiny light yellow colour.Very creamy and buttery on the nose.I get green waltnuts oak hazelnut and greenpepper.Very green-butter nose, but a good harmony. On the palate I get a nice and present acid at the beginning then the acid is suddenly gone and we have the creamy walnut notes. So we have not a slight transition.Very long aftertaste, very creamy with a hint of green and bitter notes.
