2003 Pessagno Mesa del Sol Zinfandel
(2007-05-30 19:54:46 UTC)Beautiful ruby color. Deep flavor with nice pepper and spice. Good match with grilled pork tenderloin.
2005 Torremoron Tinto Tempranillo
(2007-05-23 02:25:53 UTC)What a great value! Deep, earthy flavor with cherries, pepper and spice. Very smooth, but substantial. Haven't come across many that are this good for only $12.
2006 Tracker's Crossing Chardonnay
(2007-05-23 02:12:44 UTC)Surprisingly rich, buttery feel with just enough apple and pear flavors to make it tasty without being overly bright or fruity. Definitely not a "dry" chardonnay... nice, young wine.
2003 Ty Caton Zinfandel
(2007-03-02 08:11:09 UTC)Deep cherry and blackberry flavors with just a hint of vanilla at the finish. Incredibly smooth Zin with no overpowering French Oak kick.
2001 ty caton cabernet sauvignon
(2007-03-02 08:05:14 UTC)Nice bright berry flavors with a bit of spice. Finish was a little harsh with heavy alcohol bite...though this seemed to smooth out overnight. Give it plenty of breathing room before drinking.
2002 Gandia Hoya de Cadenas Reserva
(2006-10-23 01:41:43 UTC)Great value wine! Smooth and spicy with a very clean finish. Excellent paired black pepper covered hamburgers.
2002 Ross Estate Estate Shiraz
(2006-09-26 03:07:13 UTC)Very deep and complex for a shiraz. Obvious pepper and spice flavors with blackberry behind it and is that chocolate at the end? A long finish, but very soft. Hearty enough to substitute for a cabernet, it works better with beef and stronger flavors. We paired with salmon which the wine overpowered.
2001 Borsao Reserva Seleccion
(2006-09-13 01:18:05 UTC)Very solid red. Deep berry flavors with a bit of spice. Didn't see a huge improvement over its non-reserve cousin, but still a good value.
2002 Ross Estate North Ridge Shiraz
(2006-09-03 22:48:56 UTC)Smooth, but bold. A deep, peppery flavor balanced with fruit.
2004 Claiborne & Churchill Pinot Noir
(2006-08-15 17:00:26 UTC)A nice pinot from a small, family-owned California winery. Great flavor and value for the price. As most from California are, it's from the lighter end of the pinot noir spectrum.
