Have never related a wine's taste to candy and don't plan to. Well, unless it's a Chocolate Port.....

2007 Seghesio Family Vineyards Zinfandel Sonoma County
(2008-12-17 03:56:30 UTC)Got this wine to check out the good press in the Wine Spectator, perhaps it could become a good Zinfandel for casual dinner parties and such. I agree with the other posts that I wouldn't goive it a 93, but it is a solid Zin and I'll get a few more bottles. Interesting, how do ya score a wine that so called experts give a 93 and ya don't think it's quite so breathtaking. Still a very good value.
2005 2005 Pillar Box Red
(2008-08-27 01:12:49 UTC)Good for the price. Backyard red wine.
2003 Marqés de Riscal Reserva Rioja
(2008-05-31 01:35:30 UTC)This wine begs for food. A little acidic, ready to drink, well balanced.
2006 Tommasi Pinot Grigio
(2008-05-26 03:02:03 UTC)I agree with the tasting notes.
2006 Castiglioni Chianti
(2008-05-05 03:40:00 UTC)I felt good about this wine at this price point. Nothing special, but went well with take-out Italian on the patio...
2005 Spier 'Vintage Selection' Sauvignon Blanc
(2008-04-20 00:32:53 UTC)The blending of Chardonnay and Viognier balance the acidity of the Sauvignon Blanc very well. Crisp and slightly acidic.
2006 Geyser Peak Sauvignon Blanc
(2008-03-02 02:16:44 UTC)Crisp, lots of grapefruit, not as acidic as some other Sauvignon Blancs, sour finish. Would have again with salad or seafood.
2006 Unti Barbera
(2008-02-24 04:30:53 UTC)Deep purple color, fruity nose, noticable acidity that goes well with food. Very drinkable as a young wine.
2003 Villa Antinori
(2008-02-10 02:13:57 UTC)I also got this at a bargain price for which it was great deal. Dark rich color, tannins are ever present but not dominate. Tad sour on the finish. Begs for pairing with a steak or a tomatoe based dish.
