2/10/09 - The nose contains tar, menthol, red tart fruit, damp soil. There is loads of wet earth mixed with charcoal, cranberry, and pomegranate on the palate. Medium body with velvety (but young) ripe tannins. The Cab Franc is really in the forefront here and brings some nice funk. I'm hoping the oak stays in check during aging. This is way too young to drink right now and should be sampled again in 3-5 years.

Not a bad bottle, but not great. Almost a hint of rubber bands or used band-aids in the flavor profile which I'm not so fond of, but the apple and pear fruit is nice. An "O.K." price point for an 'O.K.' refreshment.

Dirty, spicy, and a bit too tannic. This wine has an apricot aftertaste and has very nice fruit with currant and black cherry. A good wine I think a 90 rating may be a touch high, but a good mid-week wine. Let it decant for several hours before serving!

Huge amount of pear and grass on the initial taste finishing with a funky blend of apricot, pear, and pineapple. There is also a bit of lemon zest zing to make the mouth sing a little bit. The finish almost has a rotten fruit quality which I don't find at all offensive.

This wine needs time to breathe as seems young. Given several hours of decanting, this wine shows some very nice qualities. The mouth-feel of this wine is very nice and you can tell it is well made. It wanders a bit too close to the oak monster for me, but has some very nice garden vegetable hints and a nice sour cherry finish. This is a nice value at the price I paid.
