I started getting into wine a few years ago, when I moved to Bristol. We have a great wine store here, Inari Wines, run by a couple who really know and love wine and are happy to share their knowledge. Over the past couple of years, I've tasted quite a few different wines, nailed down a few varietals (and specific wines) that I really enjoy, and now I'm ready to take it to the next level. I've started reading up wines, learning a little more, and my fiance and I are getting ready to start building our wine cellar (by which I mean buying some shelves and stocking up, not major home renovation).

Sweeter aroma than previous vintages, with a strong strawberry component. Also scents of licorice and dust. Bold flavors of spices and earth, with a hint of strawberries.
Ok, I'm back. I've been very lax about keeping my tasting notes up to date, but I'm going to try to do better!

Bold and fruity. Strong aromas of licorice and cherry on the nose, with a hint of smoke. Peppery on the palate, with flavors of blackberry and a touch of cherry. Nice finish.

So lovely. Excellent structure and body. Black pepper and bacon on the nose. Creamy body, with flavors of black pepper, cherry, and vanilla.

A fruity, off-dry that is very good with spicy foods. A green, slightly diesely nose reminiscent of Gewurtztraminer. Delicious apricot flavor on the palate, with hints of grass.

A complex nose with aromas of tobacco, wood smoke and plum. Rich, complex flavors of plum, smoke, pepper and a hint of cocoa. Very well structured with a wonderful long finish.
