2006 Penfolds Rawson's Retreat Shiraz Cabernet
(2007-11-07 06:06:29 UTC)A dark wine, with a definite spiciness and tanginess to it. I am usually not a huge fan of Australian wines, but I found this one to be above average. I would certainly give Penfolds another shot in the future.
2004 Columbia Crest Shiraz
(2007-11-07 05:59:29 UTC)I couldn't help but feel that I was drinking grape juice with alcohol, rather than an actual, crafted wine. The flavors were nice and fruity, but it lacked substance.
2005 Turning Leaf Pinot Noir Pfalz
(2007-10-05 02:58:23 UTC)I was pretty disappointed by this wine. It tasted totally watered down to me. Nothing remarkable on the nose. Nothing remarkable on the tongue. Just a cheap Pino.
2005 Covey Run Cabernet Sauvignon
(2007-10-02 03:01:13 UTC)I bought this wine to help in my effort to taste my way through the Northwest wine scene. I found it to be a rich wine, with a sweet but deep scent on the nose. On the tongue, it's very big on the berries and spice. Not bad. I'd certainly purchase again.
2006 Smoking Loon California Pinot Noir
(2007-10-02 02:56:06 UTC)A cheap Pinot. Not a whole lot else to it. Comparable to the Pepperwood Grove Pinot Noir (both bottled by 3 Loose Screws) in that it's fruity and light on the nose, but pretty shallow beyond that. Considering how cheap it is, I would might purchase it again though.
2004 04 Domaine des Blagueur Syrah
(2007-10-02 02:52:19 UTC)A very fun wine! I am a fan of Bonny Doon Vineyard, and I find that they don't often disappoint. A very sweet, fruity wine. Lots of berry flavors. If anything, I'd say it's maybe a bit too sweet, but a bottle I'd definitely purchase again.
2005 Pepperwood Grove Pinot Noir
(2007-10-02 02:49:29 UTC)Earthy on the nose, fruity on the tongue. Nothing incredibly special to truly draw me into the wine, but nevertheless, a decent Pinot for the price.
2005 Sea Ridge Syrah
(2007-10-02 02:40:46 UTC)Surprisingly pleasant for the price! Not much going for it on the nose. But on the tongue, it's sweet and fruity with plenty of berry notes. For the $3.99 I paid for it, I'd definitely consider another purchase.
2005 Hogue Columbia Valley Merlot
(2007-09-10 03:44:16 UTC)Not bad. Fairly mellow. Sweet, fruity on the nose. Nothing particularly special, but it was enjoyable.
