2006 Chateau St. Michelle Riesling
(2007-05-31 23:39:28 UTC)2006 seemed a pretty good year for the Washington wine area.
Wet beginning followed by cool nights and dry days. This wine highlights light and sweet.
If you are a fan of things Chateau St. Michelle you won't be disappointed.
Aromatics of nectar and honeydew. Flavors, a hint of citrus, honeysuckle, simple syrup. Clean snap on the palate. Works well with light appetizers or a great clean plate for a meal to rest on.
The group I was with enjoyed it all around.
2005 Tensley Syrah
(2007-05-04 16:43:14 UTC)Earth chords with lots of jam. Effervest/Sparkled on tounge.
With a steak and truffles it was a perfect match.
2004 Ménage à trois California Red Table Wine
(2007-05-03 13:09:33 UTC)Jammy, robust, full of vitality. Mild effervescence. Made me want more.
2002 El Coto Rioja
(2007-02-23 02:27:33 UTC)Rich and velvety. Lower tanic properties. Beautiful color and mild cling. It really didn't get in your way and had you reaching for more.
Complimented a farm fresh beef stew perfectly.
NV Domaine Ste. Michelle Blanc De Blanc
(2007-01-01 15:16:56 UTC)Aroma: Clean, Arid, Hint of Sweet
Flavor: Crisp, Tart, Apple, Subtle Pear
Aftertaste: Back of throat, slightly tannic response--acidic.Dry but not too dry. The crispness of it really hits you early but diminishes in strength rather rapidly.
2004 Flying Trout Deep River Red
(2007-01-01 06:58:22 UTC)Aroma/Fragrance: Lush, cherry cordial, hint of smoke
Flavor: Beef broth, dark cigar, brown sugar, dark cherry
Body: velvet, rich
Aftertaste: Linger, sustaining, pleasant
Thoughts: I really like this wine. It makes you salivate for more. Not too dry, not too overpowering that it can stand by itself or as a great note in many a meal. The winemaker is a new startup, http://flyingtroutwine.com
