2004 Ring bolt Cabernet Sauvignon
(2006-10-10 02:55:38 UTC)A very solid and well rounded cabernet with just the right amount of balance between grape and tannin.
2005 Trinity Oaks Zinfandel
(2006-08-11 23:55:18 UTC)I must say I had high hopes for this wine. However, the wine was very disappointing and I found myself struggling to drink it. The unripe flavors coupled with the holllow taste left me reaching for a glasses upon glasses of water. Trinity Oaks calls itself the "food wine," but I would have to appeal for the more accurate slogan, "cooking wine." Although I am a firm believer in second chances, I find it hard to believe that I will ever waste my money on a bottle of this again.
2004 Indaba Chenin Blanc
(2006-08-11 23:38:40 UTC)With such a great tasting wine such as this one, it still astonishes me why South African wines continue to be underappreciated on the world market. Hailing from the Western Cape, one of the most unique and inviting wine climates anywhere, this wine offers fresh and crisp smoothness as well as a delightful finish. For those friends that don't like wine that much, offer them a chilled glass of this fine vintage and watch their opinions change before your eyes. As one of the more widely available wineries, Indaba wines give a nice sampling of South African wine and can be found just about anywhere.
2004 9th Evolution
(2006-08-11 23:26:02 UTC)A deliciously creative blend, that works well when a lighter and crisper wine is called for. Beside the wonderfully fruity boquet, I really appreciate the Winery's approach. You'd think by blending so many different grapes you would have to search through a complex array of layers and flavors; however, the wine is surprisingly straightforward and simple. One of my favorites of the year. I highly recommend it!
2004 Excelsior Cabernet Sauvignon
(2006-07-12 02:14:32 UTC)A fantastic South African import widely available on the US market. Very smooth experience with a clean and unlingering finish. A very enjoyable Cape wine.
