2007 J.W. Morris Gewurztraminer

2005 Concannon Central Coast Syrah
(2008-07-22 21:52:03 UTC)Musty, peppery, acidic bouquet. Acidic, leafy, light, and lacks depth of tannins. Aspiration releases some more of the leafy flavor, which tapers very slowly, but fails to smooth the acidity. Don't remember the price, but would be a good table wine at around $6-8.
2004 Beaujolais-Vollages
(2006-09-08 14:37:27 UTC)Very potent fruity bouquet, with a faint, lingering earthy smell. This wine has good action early, with a peppery, fruity taste, that tails into a dewey, earthy aftertaste. The tannins accumulate nicely with a light to medium weight on the palette, however, the wine is still unbalanced, maintaining a consistent and profoundly acidic flavor.
It's very good for the price, which I can't exactly confirm exactly as $6, but it's very near that.
2005 Chateau St. Michelle
(2006-09-06 12:01:32 UTC)Medium-dry, as the producer notes. My wife and I had this wine alone and with homemade lasagna. It has a nice golden color under soft white light and a soft citrus smell. Its weight is evenly balanced, but lacks a potent flavor alone, tasting faintly of grapefruit with some long(ish) buttery aftertaste. It did, however, perk up with the spicy pasta, almost synergizing with the chipotle pepper. It would probably go better with a spicy chicken or fish meal.
