2001 Chateau Puy Blanquet St. Emilion Grand Cru
(2007-02-13 14:19:49 UTC)Very nice, subtle, bit of pepper, hints of dark fruit. Good eating wine, especially for steak (as was recommended to me).
2004 Goats Do Roam
(2006-09-19 14:19:36 UTC)This is the Pepsi of wine. It's sweet and refreshing, but not too interesting. Still, decent for bthe price range and a good wine for red lovers in the summer, because it's nice shilled.
2004 Toasted Head Chardonnay
(2006-09-19 14:08:13 UTC)Background: I did not choose this wine, it happened to be served at a dinner I was at. I usually hate California Chardonnays, and this was different only in that it had far too much oak, rather than too much oak.
2003 Faustino Rioja VII
(2006-09-19 14:02:13 UTC)Excellent bottle. I don't personally get the vanilla others and wine.com taste, but this wine has a great amount of fruit in the bouquet and on the tongue. More complex than other wines in this price range. Good for red meats and the like.
2004 Jules Cotes de Provence
(2006-09-19 13:55:44 UTC)Very nice bottle. Like the rose, it was very flavorful, simple, and smooth. Strong blackberry note. Relatively light.
2005 Jules Cotes de Provence
(2006-08-07 23:39:57 UTC)Sorry for yet another 3-star review. The wine was good, a great summer option for red wine lovers, as it was refreshing and crisp but had a color of deep pink and suggested some characteristics of a red, such as dark berries. I checked out some other reviews and found this not too pronounced, but definietely there.
Nice option for a hot day and spicy meal.
2003 Mattei Barbera
(2006-06-24 00:39:12 UTC)I've rated the two other wines three stars, but this is a good bit better (but somehow the four stars seemed too much). Very smooth, dark fruit, but not heavy. Not too much in the way of tannins. Good mouthfeel.
2004 La Ferme de Gicon Cotes du Rhone
(2006-06-21 21:58:44 UTC)This is a perfectly serviceable Cotes du Rhone, nothing that special, but pretty good. Dark fruit, a bit acid.
2004 Bandit Pinot Grigio
(2006-06-19 22:43:23 UTC)Very light, citrusy, some acidity. Very good value considering you get a liter for the price. Also interesting is the fact it comes in a box. Three Thieves has fun with packaging, selling their decent--but not great--Zinfandel in a liter jug as well.
