2005 Folie à Deux Menage à Trois Red
(2008-07-03 14:22:18 UTC)Juicy, very full bodied, almost like silk. A very tiny bite when you first taste, but each sip following is smooth and full. Fruity, but not sweet. Delicious.
2003 Veramonte Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon
(2006-06-28 17:23:06 UTC)Definitely straightforward. Earthy and tannon-y (is that a word?), but not unpleasantly so. Hints of oak and juicy red fruits without being too obvious. Quite nice. Pairs well with spicy (mexican?) foods, in my humble palette's opinion.
NV Bartenura Moscato D'Asti
(2006-06-28 17:13:26 UTC)A very pleasant Moscato. Sweet (as is the muscat grape!), slightly fizzy, surprisingly clean, and smooth. Hints of peach and honey. This is excellent as a sweet accent to salads, desserts or as a light apertif. But don't try this one if you're not looking for something that is sweeter than usual.
2004 Firesteed Pinot Noir
(2006-06-28 16:51:36 UTC)Very nice wine. Medium bodied and smooth. Hint of cherry. Not expensive at all. Pleasantly surprised when I tried this one.
2004 Tres Ojos Garnacha
(2006-06-28 16:48:12 UTC)Holds up VERY well with the right kind of food. Good with gamey meats, like lamb or buffalo. Smooth and mellow. However, with poultry or veggies, does not hold it's own and is not worthwhile. Decent as an inexpensive wine.
2005 Yellowtail Shiraz
(2006-06-28 16:44:07 UTC)Dull. Not interesting. Simple is not always bad, but this time it is. Slightly acidic. Very thin. Slightly sweet. Would only recommend as cooking wine.
2004 The Little Penguin Shiraz
(2006-05-23 15:22:08 UTC)Very nice supper wine.
Not the best on its own, but great paired with food.
Nice body, ripe with fruit flavors, but not a sweet wine. A little dry and zingy.
2004 Gnarly Head Old Vine Lodi Zinfandel
(2006-05-23 15:15:13 UTC)If you like to be knocked over the head with a taste that screams RAISIN RAISIN RAISIN!!!!! with each sip, you might like this.
Too musty and Too Raisin-y. Ech. Its flavor even overpowered my food. Drinking it was like walking into a damp underground raisin vat-oreum. Highly disappointing.
Fruity.
2004 Peachy Canyon Incredible Red
(2006-05-23 15:02:08 UTC)very nice, medium bodied, good with antipasti.
agree that it is a good value.
2004 Folie a Deux Menage a Trois California Red
(2006-05-22 12:51:43 UTC)Quite lovely and surprisingly nice for a triple blend from California.
Full bodied, very little tannon taste, simply complex... not too many layers but interesting enough to not be a plain table wine.
Succulent.
Great with red meat or grilled veggie dishes that do not have overpowering flavors (stay away from extremely garlicy dishes - this will not stand up).
