This wine smells like rubber and chlorine with a hint of spice on the finish. The attack brings sour cherries which lead into a creamy mid palate and then back to a sour finish. The wine is good, but not life changing.

This wine smells like melons, vanilla and broken up nuts. It has a silky smooth mouth feel, laced with butter and cream. There is a sour bite in the transition from mid palate to finish which lingers in the supple finish. This is a VERY nice wine. I tried the '05 version of this with the Christmas pack, however I feel that this wine is nicer when chilled then the '05 version was. It is creamier and not too sugary like I felt the '05 was.

2004 Hubert de Bouard Bordeaux

When I first opened this wine it literally smelled like a sweaty sock. After about three hours decanting the nose was very interesting. It starts off with a burnt rubber smell which leads into aromas of steamed spinach and is topped off with fruit roll ups. The taste is silky at first. The mid palate is full of strawberries and other red fruits which breaks down in to a coca flavor. The finish is long and dry. A very nice wine to pair with a steak.

First off, yes those percentages are correct. Not sure if they can't add in France or if the other 5% is a surprise :). Regardless, this is a very nice wine. The nose is full of lush fruit with a sour middle and cinnamon spices on the finish. The flavor is very red no the attack. This is a full bodied wine with a vegital mid palate. The finish leads off dry and chocolatey and ends up with subtle dried fruits. This wine tastes amazing with some steak and mashed potatoes.

2002 St. Francis Claret

This wine smells like chocolate and dark berries. There are scents of dust and a little bit of funk on the finish. The attack is very bright fruit - raspberries and strawberries. The mid palate has nice tannins which lead into a dry and somewhat sour finish. This wine has classic Bordeaux flavor at a good price. Having some dark chocolate with this wine smooths out the tannins and makes it very pleasant to drink.

NV Martini & Rossi Asti

This wine smells like sugar water. The taste isn't much different... Imagine taking a glass of apple juice and dumping a few packets of sugar in. It is very one dimensional and uninteresting. If you are really into sugary stuff you'll probably like this, but I wouldn't recommend it.

2006 Francis Coppola Silver Label Pinot Noir

This wine has a stinky nose that is filled with red fruit and has a green finish. The attack contains very bright red fruit. The mid palate is peppery and leads into a tannic finish, topped off with white pepper. There is a bit of a detergenty aftertaste and the wine is a little one dimensional. Still, it is enjoyable and will pair nicely with most foods.

This wine smells like chocolate covered raisins, dirt, and mint leaves. The taste is dry and sour. The mid palate has a dusty feel and the finish goes from sweet to sour. On it's own the wine tastes a little off balance, but it pairs beautifully with chicken marsala.

2004 Ravenswood "Zen of Zin" Zinfandel

This wine has a fruity bouquet with hints of cinnamon. The attack is tart and leads into a tannic mid palate. The finish is a little week and overall the wine tastes a little off balance. This is covered up when you have the wine with food, but is pretty obvious if you're drinking it on its own. It's not a bad wine, but does leave some to be desired.

2006 Alamos Malbec

This wine smells like cheese, vanilla, and spice. The attack is smooth and fruity. This is followed by a dry mid palate and a sour finish. This wine isn't terribly complex or interesting compared to other Malbecs I've tried, but is pleasant and goes well with food.
