2006 Storyteller Chenin Blanc
(2008-05-16 01:48:05 UTC)nose: fantastic. pear, lemon & citrus, very fresh/fruity, like a summer day
taste: great, crisp, lemon & citrus, slight acid, only downside is the aftertaste gets bitter after about 15 seconds. then again, the aftertaste lasts 15 seconds.
2005 Screw Kappa Napa Cabernet Sauvignon
(2008-04-27 00:08:55 UTC)nose: CLASSIC napa cab. black/red fruits, especially cherry and black cherry.
taste: medium body, slight tannins that will probably go away if cellared for a few years, very long finish.
overall: a solid, above average cab, especially on the QPR.
2005 Chateau Saint-Florin Bordeaux Sauvignon-Semillon
(2008-04-27 00:05:18 UTC)nose: PEACHES. just amazing. was not expecting that at ALL. just a hint of lemon zest too.
taste: medium acid, decent finish, very solid.
overall: perfect as a refresher for a warm day.
2006 Beringer Vineyards White Zinfandel
(2008-04-27 00:00:16 UTC)ugh. WAY too fruity for my tastes. it was like drinking punch with alcohol.
2006 Rosemount 2006 Chardonnay
(2008-04-26 23:36:50 UTC)very basic chard. smooth, a little oak, but nothing that totally overpowered me.
2005 Turning Leaf Pinot Noir Pfalz
(2008-04-17 16:27:57 UTC)Surprisingly stable, LOTS of good heat (paired with some mexican food), medium length on the back-end, and mildly aromatic on the nose. overall, a great "everyday" wine on the cheap.
2006 Twin Fin California Pinot Grigio
(2008-04-08 00:04:06 UTC)color: light!
Nose: straw, and as curious as it may sound, white grape juice
Taste: little honey, a little bit of acidity, but pretty smooth, medium finish and a little bite & bitter on the back-end
2006 Bolla Chianti
(2008-04-02 03:47:45 UTC)nice, a little harsh on the mid-pal
2005 Guenoc 2005 Petite Sirah
(2008-03-24 19:12:29 UTC)Light, VERY smooth, VERY silky, great flavor, but a little too much alcohol on the back-end for my liking(which is why it's not a 91 pointer), but very good.
2005 Ravenswood Vintners Blend Chardonnay
(2008-02-27 02:37:55 UTC)mild, very oak-y, not many other flavors, and the basic chard flavor is pretty weak.
i now understand gary's "oak monster" references.
