NV Duplin Hatteras Red
(2008-10-07 02:59:24 UTC)Candy grape juice spiked with alcohol. At least there's no alcohol taste. Just candy.
2006 Rancho Zabaco Sonoma Heritage Vines Zinfandel
(2008-08-13 01:54:16 UTC)A full and fruity flavor. The end has a rough edge, but overall quite good.
2005 2005 Dynamite Vineyards Merlot
(2008-07-07 02:12:57 UTC)Very smooth. Light and fruity. Gentle mouthfeel, not much residue. I like it... Plus, there's a red-tail on the bottle.
And while I'm don't have a fine wine palette, I at least know how to read (or am sober enough to read) the review directions...
2003 Three Blind Moose
(2008-07-04 22:39:00 UTC)Fruity, smooth, and quite good. Not too bright, but a touch off a muddled aftertaste. Still well worth it.
2005 Tumbling Tractor Zinfandel
(2008-05-04 06:54:47 UTC)Quite fruity with a bit of spice (ginger-ish?). Very, very good for the $5 it was at Trader Joe's. And the hurtling tractor on the label is a winner...
2005 Belle Vallée Cellars Red Wine
(2008-04-15 03:32:04 UTC)Mostly fun and fruity. Full of flavor, but unfortunately there is a slightly off-putting metallic aftertaste. I still like this wine, and I certainly will try others from this winery.
2003 Solo 03
(2008-02-27 05:29:44 UTC)Strong but smooth and fruity. Needs to breath.
2006 Alexander & Fitch Winery Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
(2008-02-20 04:13:05 UTC)Dry and fruity, with interesting tones that I can't quite identify. I'm not much of a cabernet sauvignon fan, but I decided to try this one anyways. I'm glad I did. I like this wine and find its flavor interesting.
NV ReVah Pomegranate Wine
(2008-02-11 06:19:13 UTC)I love pomegranates. I love making pomegranate syrup (grenadine), eating them straight, using them in salads, etc. So of course I had to try pomegranate wine.
It is very interesting. The first rush of flavor and smell is pure pomegranate. That is followed by a little bit of alcohol and a deeper flavor. I think I like it.
The fragrance isn't so great, but the wine itself is good. I was generous in my rating because there simply is no way to compare this directly to grape wine. It's worth trying.
2005 Block 45 Petite Syrah
(2008-02-08 07:36:59 UTC)What he said, but I think I liked it a touch more. The thin quality balances out the strong flavor for me. And a nice aroma.
