Yes, merlot is tiresome these days, and everyone's moved on to pinot noir, but for a beer-drinker like me, this is a tasty little wine. I've seen it for sale in New York for twelve bucks, which is probably excessive, but here in northern California, we often find it for six to seven dollars, which can't be beat. An uncomplicated wine, it's probably no one's absolute favorite, but it's the one I most often take to dinner parties, and everyone always likes it.
