From 25 year-old vines in Palisade, Colorado, this unfiltered French-style Merlot is open-vat fermented and aged in French oak barrels. Featured by the Fine Living Channel’s Master Sommelier Andrea Immer on “50 Wines, 50 States.”

An excellent Colorado wine by one of the best vintners in the state. Full bodied and fruity without being too sweet. Great oak flavor and tannins complimented by a nice mellow finish. Hints of strawberry, chocolate, pepper, and tobacco. Go buy this wine if you can find a bottle!

Very dry. Hints of pear, green apple and fig. Clean finish, but not as much mouth feel and flavor as I was looking for. Good for sipping and cooking.
