NV Chateau aux Arc American Syrah
(2008-03-25 04:33:41 UTC)Brought a bottle home for further tasting.
2005 Chateau aux Arc Chardonnay
(2008-03-25 04:32:32 UTC)Unoaked -- I liked that. Definitely more tangy than most chardonnays, but still typically buttery
NV Swiss Family Vineyards Pure Cherry
(2008-03-23 15:29:48 UTC)Amazing cherry flavor, tart and sweet.
NV Post Familie Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon
(2008-03-23 02:53:42 UTC)I'm not usually a Cabernet fan but this wine was fruity tasting and still a bit dry. Plummy? Pleasantly surprised.
Update: It's the nicest cab. sauv. I have ever tasted. Dry nose. Fruit is easily accessible; not sweet, but still present. Not totally oak-cask-y. That's one thing I really like about these Arkansas wines. Glad I didn't pass on this one.
2006 Post Familie Vineyards Vignoles
(2008-03-23 02:46:49 UTC)Recommended to me as something similar to a riesling. Light, slightly crisp. Perhaps too subtle to stand out from the rest of the samples I tried at this winery.
Tasty and almost fizzy/bubbly.
2005 Post Familie Vineyard's Traditional Red
(2008-03-23 02:35:41 UTC)Straightforward red. I guess this would suffice for cabernet sauvignon/merlot people.
NV Post Familie Pinot Grigio
(2008-03-23 02:32:56 UTC)Sort of an overpowering aroma of whatever attribute in this wine pairs with seafood. So much so, that I wouldn't choose to serve it on its own. Otherwise a crisp, light, straightforward pinot grigio.
NV Post Familie Ives Noir
(2008-03-23 02:27:26 UTC)Fresh, fruity. Red fruits, berries. Not too dry, but I didn't actually find it to be sweet either. Like a gamay noir. Update: very fruity, muscadine-tasting, with an appropriately sweet aroma. Maybe a muscadine-blend?
2006 Post Familie Vineyards Chardonnay
(2008-03-23 02:24:46 UTC)Not bad. Unoaked chardonnay; lighter, crisper, but still buttery and slightly bitter.
