I learned to drink wine while in school in Europe. Everyone drank wine like water. And it was white wine. Yes I started drinking white wine. I am a fan of red full bodied wines. I teach design at a local college. I belong to a wine group that has a dinner every other month at someones house. We take turns buying the wines and pairing the four course menus that we think of and prepair. It's great fun. There are four couples and when it's at your house you can invite the guest couple or not. We share the price of the wine. That way we can enjoy tasting a few more pricey wines.

(2010-01-19 23:51:08 UTC)Woo the first time I put my nose in the glass I got the strong smell of jam and alcohol. I tasted it and it was strong and raw in my mouth. I didn't like it. I left it sit there and went and fixed dinner, I set down to try it again. A new bottle of wine is what it taste like. There is a jammy rich smell. The color is a deep rich red. The taste was new. Rich berry jam and tobacco. Another taste and there was a very subtle taste of licorice. I was going to say run from this but I'm saying if you want a cheap bottle of red that will hold up to a hearty rich winter dish buy this wine. It is good.

(2010-01-18 23:13:16 UTC)I have decided to do a German dinner for my next wine dinner and have been trying to find a couple German reds. This was not be one. It was a light sweet wine. I guess it would be nice for a new red wine drinker. To sweet and fruity for me. Anyone have a red German wine I should try send me a note about it. Thanks

(2010-01-14 23:27:17 UTC)Smells like fruit ready to eat. rich red color of ripe cherries. First taste is of cherries and oak, a very good oak taste. I swirled it again and tasted it And again I get oak and vanilla and fruit. It's a dry wine but it tastes like it could be a tasty dessert with something chocolate.

(2010-01-13 19:25:17 UTC)A nose of cherries is my first note, then a hint of chocolate. The wine is a rich red in the glass. I taste cherries with the first sip. A little more gets me a taste of oaky wood and a hint of dark chocolate. There is a velvety smooth finish. Lovely wine and the cost is so reasonable.
I'd love to see food paring. I do it when I reveiw a wine. I'd like to see other do it.
agreed! we'll get there ;)

(2009-12-18 23:29:20 UTC)My nose gets filled with strawberries. Then I look at the color and see how rich deep red it is. A taste of fruit is first on my tongue. I taste it again and get a chocolate taste and a finish of vanilla. It has a very nice smooth finish like velvet in your mouth
