Larry Vincent's Profile
Message Reviews Cellar Shopping List
I live in Santa Monica, CA with my wife and two children. My wife and I got hooked on wine when we stayed in Napa during our honeymoon many years ago. Since then, we tithe from every paycheck to keep our wine locker stocked. When I'm not enjoying wine or hunting for new wineries, I write and earn a living as a marketing executive in a strategic branding agency.

2002 Joseph Swan Saralee's Vineyard Pinot Noir

(2008-02-18 04:58:08 UTC)2003 Chateau Clarke, Listrac
(2007-12-31 04:57:15 UTC)Bigger than I expected from a French wine, at times the tannins overwhelm. This is a wine you might want to consider decanting. Yet, still, it flourishes with oak, chocolate and vibrant spice.
2004 Chateau La Vieille Cure
(2007-12-27 03:09:23 UTC)Any wine over-hyped is destined for disappointment. Despite rampant fawning by the staff at my local wine store, I decided to give this "can't miss" a try. I wasn't disappointed.
A gentle wavering of cloves and chocolate on the nose were blessed with a hint of black cherry on the finish. This is a big wine for French terroir, one that will appeal to California wine lovers. But the essence of the wine is uncompromisingly French, with all the subtleties, nuances and heritage that French winemakers have delivered for centuries.
2006 Melville Estate Pinot Noir
(2007-12-01 04:31:55 UTC)A soft, satiny wine with hints of maple and tea. I enjoyed this wine particularly because it is so subtle. The nose invites you in with a hint of shea butter, but the finish lingers with a nice, soft spicy denouement.
2003 Seps Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
(2007-11-03 03:14:44 UTC)Cedar, spice and espresso combine to balance this confident wine. It pairs beautifully with lamb, rib eye and hearty food. Will age well.
2005 Palmina Undici
(2007-10-13 03:22:38 UTC)This is such a lovely wine. The more I drink it the more it grows on me. The nose is subtle, lively and inviting all at once, with hints of cherry and vanilla. The finish rests nicely on the tongue with just a hint of maple.
2006 Palmina Alisos Pinot Grigio
(2007-10-11 04:25:23 UTC)Crisp embellishments of apple and pear blush this lively but noble white wine. It's the antidote to Chardonnay. Enjoy the spritz on the finish. You'll find this wine disappears from the bottle very quickly.
