While doing recycling this past weekend, I discovered what the 6th bottle was! http://corkd.com/wine/view/48528-Buena_Vista_Pinot_Noir. Must've been opened to "play along" with Sideways. :) There was also a partial 7th bottle that came into play, but it was only fractional having been opened the night before so we don't need to count that one.

Having great friends over is exactly the occasion to crack open the nicer bottles. Imagine how bad we would've felt in the morning if we were drinking low end wines. Yikes! BTW Gary Vaynerchuck reviewed the Chappellet just a couple of nights ago on WLTV: http://tv.winelibrary.com/2008/09/17/napa-cabernet-and-a-guest-live-from-ny-episode-540/ He and I agreed- 92 points!

Ha ha! I should put an asterisk next to these reviews for sure. For example: 2006 Two Hands Gnarly Dudes Shiraz* *- This was the 6th bottle consumed on the night and information contained herein is to be taken with a grain of salt. :) PS iPod touch arrival is imminent! Can't wait to start wasting some serious time!!

Hi Michelle! I think I posted reviews for all the wines we had while you were here, but I think I may have forgotten one of them. If you could send me the picture you took of the empties maybe I could remember which one I've forgotten?

I picked up a bottle of the 2005 Bernadus Chardonnay today! Looking very much forward to that one.

I just logged on to cork'd after seeing your note on my cork board about eating oak. I noticed a review of 2005 Bernardus scrolling by on the "recent reviews" and I'm all "ooo! I've wanted to try this one!" And what do you know, YOU wrote the review. Amazing coincidence with all the reviews flying around on cork'd. Strange thing on that Bernardus (other than it is tricky to spell) is that in '05, Spectator gave it 81 points. In '06 they gave it 90. That's a huge swing! Either way I'd like to try it. They have the '05 at San Diego Wine Co. for $12.99 (way below list) so I might pick some up on my next business trip out there. I haven't seen it in shops here for some reason. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough.

I really enjoyed all 4 of your new wine reviews! You're a pro. Sounds like the Merryvale delivered big time. I noticed your Newton Red Label Chardonnay- I've had that one several times and really like it. I picked up coconut on that one and I'm a sucker for anything sweet like butterscotch, vanilla or coconut in a Chard. Too bad corkd doesn't let you comment on wine reviews- it would be nice to pile on suggestions right below a tasting note (and it would be nice to know someone else read and enjoyed your reviews). But since I can't do that, I'll say it here- great job!

Well done (killing the bottle of Chard)! You're right to question how this cork board thing works. Facebook makes a lot of other social networking sites look bad, and this one is no exception. It would be nice if corkd emailed when your drinking buddies posted new reviews, or for cryin' out loud when they sent you a private message (it currently does neither). The only email notifications I've received are when someone posts on my own cork board, or sends/accepts a drinking buddy request. I'm hopeful that it improves in the future, but I'm not holding my breath. Oh well, it's a fun way to yack about alcohol without appearing like a lush on ones Facebook profile. :)

Heh, I killed a bottle of Clos du Bois Chardonnay last night...guess I could review that one. Not very exciting, though it did the trick!

I think you'd be drinking *more* with Ken out of town- where are the reviews? :)
