I'm a musician who likes to play, and listen to music, perform sleight of hand, and drink wine. Have only been paying honest attention to wine for a few years now. The wife and I took our first wine trip in 2009 and that made us step up our game. I really enjoy tasting wine, but am not all that great at identifying what I smell and taste yet. I'm still developing my palate.

2006 Kaz Melodrama Malbec
(2010-02-04 01:13:18 UTC)I drank this bottle over 3 days and I was unsure how I felt about it until tonight.
Day 1
Color is deep purple, almost black. Nose was a little spicy with bold black fruit. I thought it was going to be big and bold, but did not seem to want to open up. Poured through the venturi and it opened up some and the dark fruit came out.Day 2
Tonight the flavors have opened up and I can detect blueberries and black currant.Day 3
This really opened up tonight. Everything settled into where I thought this wine should be. Same flavors and aromas but not they are bold. Good finish, and smooth to drink. Weak on the mid palate. Bottles will need some time in the cellar before ready to drink with out long decanting times.
2006 KAZ Stomp Merlot
(2010-01-25 16:20:03 UTC)Had this bottle in the recording studio this weekend. Great ruby color. Nose smells of Welch's Grape Juice. Flavors are straight forward. Tastes of grape juice and dark berries.
2005 The Wishing Tree
(2010-01-25 15:53:06 UTC)Had this is the recording studio with friends this weekend. At first I was not a big fan of this. Medium body with hints of spice. It grew on me throughout the glass. What started out as a joke turned out to be a great little experiment. This wine pairs perfectly with Jack Links Teriyaki Beef Jerky. Not sure if the Jerky improved the wine or visa versa, but the combo was fantastic. The body of the wine changed, and the combined flavors of beef and spice, made for an excellent experience.
After the addition I realized that that this wine needed to be enjoyed with food rather than just by itself. I'll grab another bottle and see how it does.
2006 Kaz Pnor 100% Pinot Noir
(2010-01-25 15:31:59 UTC)This was a wine club selection from KAZ. I did use the Venturi on this bottle. I shared this with band mates and friends in the recording studio this weekend. Color was a dark Cool Aid Red. Looked lite and thin. Hints of Raspberry on the nose. Rasberry and bitter citrus. Kind of like the white part of an orange than connects the skin to the fruit. Slight syrup texture that helps extend the finish on this bottle. After it sat for a while we all picked up more cherry flavor. Good solid wine, but not terribly exciting.
2005 Atlas Peak Cabernet Sauvignon
(2009-12-13 16:59:31 UTC)Big bold dark fruit flavors. Solid tannins leave you playing with your tongue after a taste. Blueberry and vanilla accent flavors. This is fantastic with a big medium steak. this would benefit from some time in the cellar, but it is fantastic.
2005 Robert Mondavi Winery Chardonnay Reserve
(2009-11-23 01:12:11 UTC)2007 2 Up Shiraz
(2009-07-28 16:14:28 UTC)Had this wine with an Italian dinner on July 22 2009. Pretty well balanced. Cherries on the nose, and Cherry and chocolate flavors. This was a pop and pour at the restaurant so it did not have time to breathe. If it had decanted for 30 min to an hour it would have been better. Overall I enjoyed this. 88pts
