I am a returning student after a ten year hiatus in the working world. I am also the mother of a toddler and the wife of a teacher as well as a lover of wine. As a member of the non-working class, I try to find the tastiest wines available for the least money. I know, it's a very dirty job.

NV Pinot Evil
(2006-08-25 19:55:03 UTC)A wonderful wine from the first sip. An excellent party wine as it is as easy on the budget as it is on the palate
2005 Lindemans Bin 99
(2006-08-24 10:38:44 UTC)At first taste upon opening the bottle, this wine tasted like raisins mixed with alcohol- really cheap and thin tasting. After sipping a little while longer the flavor developed a little more fully, masking the cheap unblended floavor and evolving into something that was at least palatable. I don't know if this was due to the wine finally having a chance to "breathe" or if my palate simply dulled to the flavors after awhile.
2004 La Joya Carmenere
(2006-08-20 13:11:42 UTC)A very good value- quite tasty and easy to drink. Tastes more expensive than it is. Would pair well with grilled meats and vegetables.
2004 Conquista Malbec
(2006-07-24 21:08:52 UTC)Truly an excellent wine for the price! I enjoyed this wine with grilled venison and vegetables and it was lovely. Would hold up well with any more assertive meat or dish. Started out just as nicely as it finished.
2003 Santana Tempranillo
(2006-05-21 20:09:03 UTC)At first, this wine tasted a bit thin, but fine for the price. After being open for a couple of hours, the flavors developed nicely. Some oak with light tannins. For the price, quite nice!
2003 Ravenswood Vintners Blend Zinfandel
(2006-05-19 14:40:56 UTC)A really tasty wine at a very reasonable price. Very well balanced with supple mouth feel.
