2006 Layer Cake Shiraz
(2008-01-14 00:13:32 UTC)Very smooth wine. Hints of chocolate and berries. No objections to this wine (save the screw cap). Very good effort.
2005 EVIL Cabernet Sauvignon
(2007-12-13 23:11:11 UTC)Excellent cab. It is Complex, aromatic and smooth. It's how a cab should taste. My only complaint is the screw cap. I find it so irritating that I rated the wine a point lower than if it had a cork. But other than that, a great wine.
NV Pine & Post Cabernet Sauvignon
(2007-11-13 01:31:16 UTC)Hmm. Well it's wine. It isn't bad stuff. It isn't memorable or even nuanced and it won't make you wonder what they were thinking. It's wine and that's what it tastes like. Even at this price, it isn't that great.
2003 Red Diamond 2003 Merlot
(2007-11-03 21:15:11 UTC)Overall an excellent wine. It has long legs, a good feel from start to finish and the flavor, though subtle, is well balanced. A good effort. A surprising wine for the price.
2003 Eos Zinfandel
(2007-11-01 20:27:27 UTC)I was ready not to like this Zinfandel because of my memories of Sutter Home Zin and because I usually drink cabs and Shiraz's but was surprised. Good fruit upfront and the finish is very smooth. A very good wine. Worth buying again.
NV Sacred Stone Red Blend
(2007-10-27 23:51:07 UTC)Decanted for about an hour and it made a noticeable difference. A little tart upfront and a little thin throughout, but overall a good bottle of wine. Seems like it would be a good steak wine.
2004 Columbia Crest "Grand Estates" Cabernet Sauvignon
(2007-10-08 21:30:02 UTC)Not a bad wine. The taste is more simple so there isn't a lot for your taste buds to get around. A common wine without any wow factor in it.
2004 Pinot Noir
(2007-09-28 20:33:00 UTC)Very smooth on the palette with lightly floral scent. A bit thinner than I like, but I think that could be because I usually drink Cab's and Shiraz's. Overall a good effort. It pairs very well with gourmet foods.
2005 Whistler 2005 The Black Piper
(2007-09-21 22:54:56 UTC)Overall, a good wine. Very peppery due to the high alcohol content. Regardless of what Gary V says, I can't stand screw caps so regardless of how good it is, I don't want to purchase this again. I might, but I won't like it.
2006 Badger Mountain NSA Organic Chardonnay
(2007-09-21 20:25:46 UTC)Granted, I am a bad judge of Chardonnay. I really don't like the grape or anything that comes from it. Given that, this isn't a horrible wine. It's young and pasty on the tongue. Not bad for a Chardonnay.
