I'm not sure about "measure U", but it wasn't on Oregon's ballot . . .California is where the FREAKS are!

I am frightened and surprised to say that I tried some very good Virginia wine (also some TRULY awful swill, but that's to be expected) "Veritas" is the company . . .

If you all must know, I eat Choadonnay exclusively. I like it with chin nuts and baby batter.

Hi, everybody! Chateauneuf du Pape (or CDP) is to Southern Rhone wines what Burgundy is to Pinot Noir. CDP is the town and the wine, about 10 square miles. South Rhone reds can all be made from the same grapes (syrah, grenache, mourvedre, cinsault, and at least 9 others including a few white grapes). CDP typically is not "ready to drink," but there are millions of bottles from the rest of South Rhone for less that are tasty yet. Gigondas and Vacqueyras (these also are wines named after a place) are the closest to CDP in style and price. These are more or less ready to drink. Cotes-du-Rhone (or CDR), coming from various appellations of Southern Rhone, is your best value, especially when it has the "-Villages" suffix. Caves des Papes (the name of the wine blender) is a CDR, about 8-9 bucks, is that the one? The best bargain is from Cotes du Ventoux. Delas and La Vieille Ferme make it widely available for about $7. These are the tamest Rhone reds.

ok. well I was just going to leave u a note to contact Steve about CNdP. But looks like he already did. Also dump on him your wealth of k-nowledge on Rioja and Malbec. Then eat a dick.

Do you know of any big differences, or have a preference, between Caves-du-Pape and Chateauneuf-du-Pape wines? Sorry for all the questions, but up here in Oregon, I have better luck w/ foreign wines than I do domestic, and I need to expand my target wines . . .
