2004 Earthquake Petite Sirah
(2007-12-10 01:34:52 UTC)Monstrous, this wine is one of the darkest I have ever seen. A real tooth stainer. Rich leathery full flavored full bodied. Another great pick while on my journey to find the best Petite Sirah.
2004 Arrowood Viognier
(2007-10-13 14:33:59 UTC)One of the best Viognier ever tasted. Full bodied, silky viscous, honeywheat flavors. Little spice on the finish.
2002 Ballentine Vineyards Merlot
(2007-10-13 14:29:39 UTC)Raspberry on the nose. Tons of cherry and caramel with a a nice round finish. One of the better Merlot's around.
2004 D'Arenbergh Footbolt
(2007-10-13 14:14:22 UTC)Black pepper on the nose, along with a faint black licorice. Full bodied with great smoke and licorice flavor profile. Rich finish, tannins could be softened a little.
2003 Sixth Sense Syrah
(2007-09-30 23:48:05 UTC)Lots of bacon on the nose, cherries on the palate with a lingering finish. The little brother to 7 Deadly Zins was a pleasant surprise.
2004 Bogle Vineyards Phantom Red Blend
(2007-09-24 00:26:46 UTC)Soft tannins, but certainly not lacking in structure. Big smoky fruit forward. Petite Sirah is prevalent and definitely gives the wine it's full mouthfeel.
2005 Turley California Zinfandel Old Vines
(2007-09-05 02:43:13 UTC)2005 Michael David Petite Petit
(2007-08-25 17:18:01 UTC)The boys from Michael David(7 Deadly Zins, Earthquake, Incognito) are at it again. Before the wine the bottle itself is worth the purchase, you could take hours deciphering the label and it's many meanings. On to the wine, the color is as dark as midnight, rich with tons of flavor, raspberry, caramel, and leather from the 15% Petit Verdot. This wine is great now but give it another year and it will be rocking.
2005 7 Deadly Zins Zinfandel
(2007-08-25 17:07:18 UTC)This is such a perennial favorite jammy, raspberry, "chocalatey" are it's usual characteristics. But a real nice bacon fat finish to this years vintage really gives 7 dead a whole different look. Never ceases to amaze!
