2006 Veramonte Reservas Sauvignon Blanc

(2008-03-10 16:38:52 UTC)While I must strongly disagree with the 100 point rating previously offered on this wine, there is potential hear from a young winery. The wine got a bit more complex as it decanted, developing peppery notes to compliment the red fruit. Good effort, and I hope to see this winery get better and better.
2006 Benton Lane Williamette Valley Pinot Noir
(2008-02-14 04:30:46 UTC)I agree with what geespot said for the most part, I just don't like the wine quite as much. It does benefit from a few minutes to open up, but I think there is a bit of a burn with the alcohol and the fruit flavors are a bit muddled, not quite as pronounced as I would hope with a pinot noir. This is still a good wine, and I bet it is better with a bit of meat than as a sipping wine. Enjoyable, but not quite a 90-pointer.
2005 Willowcroft Vineyards Cabernet Blanc
(2008-02-06 01:06:09 UTC)Enjoyable, pretty dry rose. Notes of strawberry and minerals with moderately high acidity make this a refreshing wine on its own or with pizza and lighter snacks or meals. Good wine from a consistent winery.
2005 AmRhein Traminette
(2008-02-03 03:36:35 UTC)Pencil shavings and tropical fruit on the nose with distinct pineapple notes on the palate. This wine has moderate acidity and is soft and easy drinking. Semi-sweet in the German style, this is a lovely wine by itself or with cheeses or oily/salty foods.
2005 Old House Vineyards an Samhradh
(2008-01-12 02:50:08 UTC)I like this because it's different. this is an off-dry red with just a hint of sweetness, but it also has some complexity. Plum and red fruit notes are pretty standard in off-dry reds, but this also has a hint of pepper on the back end. Perfect with pizza.
2005 2005 Falesco Vitiano
(2007-12-28 23:24:01 UTC)This is an enjoyable medium bodied red that goes perfect with pizza. This dark colored wine has aromas of dark fruit and, chocolate, and a hint of mint. The tannins are add a bit of bite to this moderate to high acidity wine with a kick of spice on the back of the tongue.
2005 Edgewood Estate Edna Valley Pinot Noir
(2007-12-27 21:14:42 UTC)This pinot has cherry, plum, and raspberry notes with hints of oak. It is ruby red in color and fruity, but not jammy. The tannins are subtle, but provide a solid backbone.
