Vermilionink,
Thanks for being my drinking buddy. I really like your list of wines. Next time you're cracking open a bottle of Yquem, give me a call!

2004 Fritsch Zweigelt Qualitatswein Trocken Donauland Wagram Red Soil
(2007-05-30 19:53:12 UTC)A really juicy clear red, with lots of nice plum and red currant flavors. Rich and velvety.
2005 Kumkani Chenin Blanc
(2007-05-30 19:47:56 UTC)Big and fresh in the mouth, lots of tropical fruit with an edge of straw and cream.
2004 Domaine de Nizas Rose
(2007-05-30 19:40:38 UTC)I’ve got to confess I have a small love affair going on with the rosés of southern France. They’re full of pure, bright berry flavors, and their light extraction and fresh acidity and minerality keeping them from being at all cloying or jammy. Sometimes it’s nice to drink something so zippy and fresh, instead of a heavier red. These wines bear no resemblance to the crappy, girlie white zin and supersweet blush wines that give rosé a bad name.
2005 Principe Pallavicini Tirso
(2007-05-30 19:34:26 UTC)Ususally Cesanese is a blending grape, but here it stands alone. Fruity, clear red, with plenty of body without being heavy. Begs for simple Italian red sauce, or pizza margherita. Sometimes the simplest things are all you could possibly want.
2001 P. Galli "Le Ragose" Valpolicella Classico Superiore Ripasso
(2006-05-30 22:49:38 UTC)2002 Weingut Manz Silvaner Weinofsheimer Kehr Eiswein
(2006-05-29 13:55:57 UTC)Bright gold. Smells like vanilla-peach ice cream. Concentrated, syrupy apricot flavor, but tart and crisp. Good sweet-acid balance. Tastes like apricot cobbler. Dessert all on its own.
2003 Domdechant Werner Hochheimer Kirchenstuck Riesling Auslese
(2006-05-29 13:53:09 UTC)(Year of heat wave.) Honeysuckle flower nose. Apricot & peaches and a little cinnamon, very ripe. Gorgeous! Less acidity, more desserty. Extremely long finish turns into clover honey. Sunshine in a bottle! Wow.
1999 Weingut Balthazar Ress Riesling Spätlese
(2006-05-29 13:50:24 UTC)Earthy, steely, musky nose. Fairly dry, smooth acid. Fresh apples & minerals; lots of sweet apples on finish.
