I'm a sophomore in the wine world. That is to say I've been tasting all sorts of wine for about 5 years, but my obsession with wine started about 2 years ago and the tasting and learning has reflected my passion from that point forward. As for Reds, I love Malbecs most--especially Catena --but I also enjoy earthy CDP and silky Burgundy. Citrus filled NZ Sauv Blanc and mineral tasting Sancerre are my favorite whites, but I also go for any grassy sauv blanc. I am not crazy for oaky Chardonnay, but some moderately oaked Cabs and Merlot is ok with me. Full bodied Champagne and good Italian and American Sparklers would come in a close second.
