Catherine et Claude Maréchal 2004 Savigny-les-Beaune Vieilles Vignes
(over 2 years ago)At first I was a little off put by the smokey, herbal flavors of this wine. After a little while in the glass the aroma became more intriguing with cinnamon candy in the mix, but the fruit still played a background role. The next day as I finished off the rest the nuances from before were gone and instead the wine was simply balanced, earthy and a pleasure to drink. It's hard to say I was taken away with this wine, but it certainly was distinctive and remains a vivid memory.
