Pale yellow color, clear, slight frizzante. Nose of petrol, white peaches, lemon zest and apple. On the palate, immediate honeyed fruit is met with lively acidity. Minerality is present, but not profound. Flavors of citrus, apricot, lemon pie, grapefruit and pear reveal through the creamy medium bodied texture. A very good-length finish for a Riesling. It's been over a minute and I'm still getting green apple on the palate.

This isn't a bad riesling and is certainly approachable if you aren't sure you like riesling wines. But this does make a refreshing summer afternoon wine and is a good choice to have on hand for guests who like a lighter and more refreshing wine.

Chateau St. Michelle is a great wine to get non-wine drinkers started on. It's really refreshing - and it's affordable, too.

I like to have an unopened bottle or two on hand in case we have unexpected guests late night - it's good enough to share but not so special as to require hording it for ourselves.
