Ridge 2004 Three Valleys Red
(about 1 year ago)68% zinfandel, 11% carignane, 10% syrah, 7% petite sirah, 4% grenache Not the most spectacular wine in the world, but most certainly enjoyable. Well rounded without any particular varietal overpowering the others. The almost 70% Zin foundation doesn't overpower with chewey tannins as I originally expected. Syrah elements smoothe it out and bring the fruit to a more forward position forward. Bottom line: quaffable and decent for the price. Buy for a picnic or casual occasion but don't invest in a whole case.

(about 1 year ago)Frankly, we found this a little too peppery. Not a bad wine, but it does not seem like a great (price adjusted) value.
