Plums and berries, med tannins, mineral finish. Very nice, medium wine.

Had a bottle of this in Little Italy in NYC with dinner not long ago. Came recommended by the waiter as a good midpriced chianti classico. Hate to say it, but I was not impressed by it. Tight, reticent nose hardly gave off any hints of character. The flavor was more tannin than anything else... hardly any fruit or nuance to it. Went down quietly with dinner of penne alla vodka, no competition but no blossoming either. Maybe it was a bad bottle. Being generous with the 75; was originally going to give it a 70. I've yet to find a good chianti that tickles my tastebuds like they seem to for others. If you know of one, please let me know!
