2003 Chateau Recougne Bordeaux Superieur
(2009-04-22 03:11:56 UTC)Not very fond of the nose, but had a nice pepper and spice scent, apart from the leather and old wounded smell. The first phase is pretty pleasant with the taste of grape, pepper and slight taste of oak. Very good tannins and great length on the finish and surprisingly good acid. Overall, this wine is nicely balanced by a subtle sour to bitter grape play, that then tickles your palette and keeps you interested, but for only so long.

(2007-11-11 01:24:42 UTC)I regretted my hiatus from wine when I opened the bottle and beheld a fantastic bouquet, one that got me excited: an inky grape giving way to leather and tobacco. Poured, it had the color of old blood (someone's been looking at too many bandages in the hospital?). The taste was sour and then bitter, and the aftertaste amazingly approximated the bite of piquant upper-crust cheese. It lingers extremely long!
