Chateau Recougne 2003 Bordeaux Superieur
(about 1 year ago)Uber oak. High tannins, could have probably used more time before opening. The bottle in question also had a bit of band-aid aftertaste so may not be a good example. If aged a little longer this would probably get a higher rating. I may try again or a difference vintage.

(about 1 year ago)A meaty, dark pepper taste, nice medium finish, stays long enough without overstaying. Strong tannins with oak.
Chateau Recougne 2003 Bordeaux Superieur
(about 1 year ago)I regretted my hiatus from wine when I opened the bottle and beheld a fantastic bouquet, one that got me excited: an inky grape giving way to leather and tobacco. Poured, it had the color of old blood (someone's been looking at too many bandages in the hospital?). The taste was sour and then bitter, and the aftertaste amazingly approximated the bite of piquant upper-crust cheese. It lingers extremely long!
