a great dark inky purple color. on the nose there is lots and lots of dark cherry and blackberry and plum with some tobacco and chocolate and a vanilla oaky pepper spice. on the palate there is lots of dark cherry and blueberry, a noticeable tobacco earthiness and a little vanilla oak on the back end with a little heat. the finish is long and the tannins leave a great dry mouthfeel. this is a good wine especially for the price.

Has a little toilet nose when first opened, but goes away after a while. A little spicy with good finish. Gets better a few days after opening. Would probably be better if decanted and allowed to breathe for a while before serving. I would buy it again. Real cork (composite particle). 13.5% alcohol.

It has the delicious factor pf the PS. and easy going tannins. gets pretty thin in the end.

not bad at all for the price.

a fine wine for the price. vanilla notes with a tannin finish. take my rating w/ a grain of salt as we don't usually drink this grape

Nose is fruity with an assortment of dark forest berries. Heavy oaking adds the toasty and vanilla notes. The tannins are restrained and pleasing. Overall a good value at this price point.

This is typical Bogle style, for a similar approach you can try McManis.

You sold me at "McManis" I'm a fan of the McManis Petite Sirah, so I'll search out a bottle of this stuff too.

Big jammy taste, moderate tannins and acid backing, this is one of my go-to lower end wines.

Nice little wine...nice cherry and vanilla on nose and palate with light tanins and medium finish that is has nice vanilla quality.

Enjoyed this by itself and with food, and would buy a few more and some other varietals for the shelf! Never had a Bogle i didn't like. $20 here in CAN

Dark "inky" purple in color...yes this wine will turn your teeth black. The nose on this wine will jump right out of the glass and bite you in the face, comes through with lots and lots of dark fruit of blackberry and black plum skin. Toasty oak really gives the nose it's backbone with tones of caramel and cake frosting. The palate is full bodied with tannins that really take hold of your gums...you almost have to chew this wine. The toasty "smoky" oak is just a hair to much for me but does give way for the dark berry fruit and spice(thyme)to come through. I am happy with the overall balance of this wine with a finish that holds on just fine.
