The Black Chook Shiraz/Viognier South Australia 2005
(about 1 year ago)Very tasty! Surprisingly a touch of smoked meat on the nose. Great berry flavors but a little too hot in body. Juicy blackberries, black cherries, lots of clove & cinnamon spice notes.

(about 1 year ago)Delicious. There seems to be a spark of "brightness" that works very well with food or without. This would be a winner at parties.

(about 1 year ago)Nose is dusty but tight (didn’t decant). Maybe some poop? Old poop. Weeks old, and non-offensive. It tastes very smooth, some spice, some dark fruit – blueberries? The wine is fragrant in a perfume-y way. Watch out for the 15% alcohol, though. Sneaks up on you.

(about 1 year ago)This wine has a very deep ruby red color and thick, voluptuous legs. Delicate but nice aromas of raspberry and some plum. Very nice attack with a soapy feel, extremely full body with pleasant acidity and soft tannins on the finish. A hint of minerality appears long into the finish. Great structure.

(about 1 year ago)Flowers and asian spice on the nose. Blackberry jam and more peppery asian spice on the palate. Luscious silky tannins with a nice balance of acidity. I like it!

(about 1 year ago)First wine that I have had that I now know what a fruit bomb is! This is it! Fruit and Candy flavors on the mouth and nose. Coats the pallet very nicely and also a very nice smooth finish that lasts. A good minute passed and still tasted it. Very Enjoyable and a very nice price.
