Light in color, Marof Beli Kriz is a true geek's wine. Slovenian, somewhat expensive and unique, Marof Beli Kriz is nice but plain weird. The nose jumps back and forth between a clean, crisp Sauvignon Blanc (65% of this blend) and honeysuckle gooiness of Riesling (35%). The palate follows that strange combination, with the feeling of chewing on white flowers, melon rind, and stale toast.
The geek factor alone justifies the 20+ dollar price tag.
