2005 W.H. Smith Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast
(over 2 years ago)Fruit forward from the nose throughout. The nose shows oatmeal cookies, fruit and cream. Olde Tyme Candy Shoppe flavors like red licorice in a jar. In the mouth this wine is bouncy and jumps with ripe, concentrated red berry fruit, vanilla, and blackberry. Red lollipop. Almost like a blackberry pie (cinnamon, oatmeal-graham cracker, candied fruit).

(about 1 year ago)Sonoma Coast Pinots over the past few years have been incredible. W.H. Smith does it again with this lovely soft, silky, earthy cherry goodness. At one time you could buy this wine at a reasonable price, but folks caught on and now its shooting up to $50.

(about 1 year ago)Pleasant pinot. Light bodied with cherry pinot nose, but secondary flavors did not quite deliver the level of complexity I wanted in a 30 dollar wine. Mild tannins and delicate body make this a nice food wine for folks who like red with their fish. Between 2 and 3 stars.
