The light, almost pinot noir color of the wine hides the fact that it packs a big berry punch. The nose has a hint of smoke and cherry. The taste is big strawberry - more like strawberry jam than the brighter fruit taste you might expect. That smoky nose becomes a slightly spicy, vanilla aftertaste that lingers in your mouth. Again, surprising for such a light colored zin, this wine has some definite viscosity and a very smooth feel.

I drank this just as a sippin' wine while hanging out with friends so can't tell anyone how it pairs with food, but for less than $10 this was serious 'bang for the buck'.

I'm going back to buy a case!
