(2007-05-31 00:33:13 UTC)This is a very good wine for the price. It has a very elegant taste but lacking complexity and the finish goes no longer than about 10 seconds. I would however, serve this in a heartbeat at my next cookout.

(2007-05-13 21:54:13 UTC)This is a tasty wine, but it is not for the environmentally conscientious: for every bottle of Four Vines Zin you drink, there is an acre of oak trees that goes missing somewhere in France. But if you're into choppin' wood - look no further. Not that you'd have to look very far in most wine stores, but it is a bit unusual for the oak monster to rear his head so fiercely in a Zin. This is the sort of lumberjack experience that you'd usually have to seek out in a Chardonnay or a Cabernet Sauvignon.
However, if you give this wine some serious time in the open air - I mean, leave the fan running and go on vacation - those Zinfandel fruit flavors will emerge from hiding and a better balance will emerge. Early after opening, this wine is an 84/85 - after serious decanting it pegs in at a much more respectable 86+.
