(about 1 year ago)On the light size for a Zin. Tight nose with raspberries and other red fruit on the palate. A decent bottle and easy to drink, but nothing spectacular.

(about 1 year ago)Hmmm. This was quite different from my other Ravenswood experiences. Lacking the power and bite of most of their wines, and a fruity taste.

(about 1 year ago)Bouquet: Hints of sour cherry but mostly fake Hi-C grape drink. Unimpressive and dull Flavor Profile: One hopes that Ravenswood who makes such a delicious entry level Zin would amp up a bit with the title "Zen of Zin". What a disappointment. One of the most unimpressive zin's I have had since the infamous Buffalo Creek disaster of the summer of 2007. Thin, boring and wreaking of just poorly cheap bad juice.

(11 months ago)This wine has a fruity bouquet with hints of cinnamon. The attack is tart and leads into a tannic mid palate. The finish is a little week and overall the wine tastes a little off balance. This is covered up when you have the wine with food, but is pretty obvious if you're drinking it on its own. It's not a bad wine, but does leave some to be desired.

(9 months ago)From the pour I could tell that it was a little lighter than most Zins. Still I thought it was promising when I stuck my nose in, possessing that big briary berry/raspberry that I look for and enjoy in Zins--I also got alot of biscuit in the nose. Yet, in the mouth I was disappointed, weak finish, not very notable at all.

(about 1 month ago)An easy to drink Zinfandel that is not too fruity. Nice paired with pizza or pasta.
