Twenty Rows Grappler
(about 1 year ago)This is everything that I like in a wine. A very interesting blend, flavors of raspberry, currant and spicy pepper. For only $15, serious value.

(about 1 year ago)Great dark color, rich purple. Nose is blackberry, raspberry, black currant, very polished and fragrant, not overpowering. On the palate it's silky upfront, fruit-forward. Nice black fruits coming through, a little strawberry added to the darkness. Some nice pepper on the mid-palate, quality mouth feel, well structured, moderate tannin grip but integrated smoothly. There is a wonderful acidity in the mid-palate that brightens this wine considerably, making it taste fresh and juicy. Medium length but silky finish, with notes of bell pepper lingering on in the end. Superb juice, more food friendly than some of more the fruit bomby Zinfandels out there. This is an excellent all around drinking wine, doesn't knock your socks off, but at the fair price point, brings more than enough to the table.

(about 1 year ago)blackberry, raspberry aromas with some evidence of oak. fruit forward on the palate with blackberry, raspberry, black cherry and again a little oak. kudos for not overdoing the oak and allowing some tannins to show. not very complex, but enjoyable.

(about 1 year ago)I got chocolate on the nose. It's got a great silky finish but a seriously gripping tanin structure when you first drink it. Probably needs some cellaring or decanting.... I just opened this bottle about 30 mins ago. I would buy more of it.
