Domaine Grand Veneur 2004 Les Origines
(over 2 years ago)A good Sunday meal needs a good wine. Why not a ridiculously expensive Chateaunuef du Pape? This one is front and center with the fruit and perfume, yet meaty from the Grenache and mouverde. Really well balanced, and yet ridiculously out of balance in certain sips which pretty much reek of blueberries, raspberries, and blackberry pancake syrup. On a warm San Diego fall sunday, with the last of the summer's heirloom tomatoes and the first of fall's carrots dipped in homemade aioli, this is a perfect wine.
