2005 Familia Sanchez Tempranillo and Syrah

Distinct woody character after some breathing time, almost a barbeque aroma. Or roasted grain, perhaps. There is berry in the background, too. Berry, tannin and wood in the taste. It was a bit astringent at first, but mellowed considerably after a couple of hours. I'm guessing there is more Tempranillo than Syrah in the mix, due to its distinctly deep, earthy character. I like it.
