Amaicha 2005 Bonarda
(over 2 years ago)Wonderfully rounded, dry, full-bodied with no aftertaste. Has the volume without being heavy. Velvety smooth with an intoxicating aroma; no acidity to come back to haunt you.

(about 1 year ago)A good value but the strength of the wine may overpower many foods.

(about 1 year ago)full-bodied with nice dark berry flavors and a peppery (but only mildly spicy) finish. very enjoyable. plus, a portion of the procedes go to building schoolhouses in argentina. Didn't pair well with my thin-crust pizza slice, but i bet it would have been great with chicago deep dish style or a nice hearty pasta dish with lots of red cabernet sauce.

(about 1 year ago)Very surprising for $1.99! Strong and good body and flavor. The other reviewers are right; there's a nice taste of fruit and pepper. Not at all delicate and could easily overpower a dish like poached fish. Trader Joe's is wiped out at this price, alas, but my wonderful wife grabbed a few bottles for me.

(about 1 year ago)tad sour, full bodied, distinct flavour. pleasant aftertaste, slight raspy fume but not like so many others. Worked with brie, with blueberries, and with milk chocolate - believe it or not. I am sure it would be outstanding with lamb.

(about 1 year ago)Tastes like your basic house red wine. I wasn't overly impressed with it. For 5 bucks it wasn't bad at all, but I did not care for the balance between the fruit, the tannins, the other flavors, and the heat. Sort of a little of everything without a plan. I much prefer the Amaicha Torrontes over this.

(9 months ago)Full bodied red wine. Not much spice, but a nice fruit balance that is not overpowering. A soft finish with almost no tannins. It matched very well with pasta and complimented the blue cheese I had very well. Great wine for the price and will go with many foods as well as a good wine to drink on it's own.
