Château Fortia Cuvee du Baron 2003, Châteauneuf du Pape
(about 1 year ago)The Wine Spectator Score: 91. "Packed with bramble, tar, red currant, licorice and cocoa, this muscular Châteauneuf gives way to briary tannins and smoke. Big, fruit-packed finish. Equal parts Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. Best from 2006 through 2020. 3,750 cases made."

(about 1 year ago)Lovely deep red color and med body. Nose of Kirsch, smoke, wet wood/forest/mushrooms. Syrah pepper develops with time. Taste: Smoky cherries and spice, cedar and meaty tannins. Structure to age a bit, but completely enjoyable now. A real winner! Opened in morning and aired all day. Have had 3 bottles of this wine, and no two is the same. One was corked, but the other two varied in intensity
