2001 Rancho Zabaco Reserve Zinfandel
(over 2 years ago)This wine was just what I wanted from my favorite varietal. Dry, spicy, but subtle and easily consumable. A bit sweet, and makes my saliva glands pop.
2001 Rancho Zabaco Reserve Zinfandel
(4 months ago)I purchased this about five years ago at a bargain price (<$10) and forgot about it on my wine rack. I opened the bottle today and was very pleasantly surprised - instead of the thinness associated with a lot of inexpensive zins, the wine softened nicely during the short period and has notes of pepper, clove and roasted meat. Altogether, it became a very pleasant, full bodied, fruit forward wine for short money. The key lesson here: buy and hold.
