This wine is awesome. I started to read The Wine Bible by Karen MacNeil and one of the first suggested wines was to try Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand. It's taste is so colourful and interesting, even hard to describe, something really different. You just have to try it! http://www.villamaria.co.nz

Came to this one via a stellar review in the New York Times (Post?) a month or so ago, where it beat out 25 other SBs in a taste test. I was pretty stoked to try it, and I have to say, it's good. Not great, not volcanic, not transcedent--just really, really good. Protypical Marlborough action here: gooseberries and grass. Nice, but overly minerally, finish. Good stuff. My fave? Nope, but worth the money.

One of my favorite Sauvignon Blancs. Characteristic grassy nose. Very crisp and refreshing taste, citrus and grapefruit notes. Nice finish. Perfect on a hot summer day.
