2002 Anapamu Pinot Noir
(about 1 year ago)The wine's color is a rich garnet with a touch of purple. The bouquet is very light and not overwhelming at all. I really enjoyed smelling this one. I sensed cherries with a bit of lemon zest and a smokey ending. Sort of a strange combo, but it's probably the best combination of scents I've smelled in any of my recently reviewed wines. The taste did not disappoint me. It starts with a slight fruity flavor, it's very mild. It continues with a mix of spice and leather and finishes with a swirl of smoke. The best word I can use to describe this wine is "elegant." It's one that I'll be buying again and I highly recommend this one. Drink up!
